A Mediated Divorce
A Mediated Divorce provides divorce mediation and document preparation services.
Divorce is a major life transition that affects every aspect of the family. It can also be quite expensive. When considering divorce the first thing most people do is call a lawyer. There is a better alternative. A Mediated Divorce can reduce the stress and the cost of a divorce significantly from the traditional attorney driven divorce. A Mediated Divorce can help you mediate your divorce as painlessly and economically as possible. A Mediated Divorce is a way to divorce amicably without the stresses and costs that accompany traditional divorce.
What is a Jewish Divorce?
When we think about divorce, we usually focus on the classic issues of marital property, support, and parenting. For many couples, however, there is also the issue of a Jewish Divorce. A Jewish Divorce is the same as a regular divorce with some major additional considerations that affect a Jewish family. Examples are tuition and day school, Synagogue membership, the bar and bat mitzvahs, the “get” and division of the kids for Jewish holidays. As with a civil divorce, a Jewish Divorce understands the importance of making the children’s needs the most important priority.
Thank you for visiting A Jewish Divorce website. My unique training – both in financial matters and as a divorce mediator has given me both the technical understanding of the mediation process and an in-depth understanding of your needs. This combination of skills has helped me develop a complete mediation process that enables you and your spouse to obtain a divorce at an affordable price. I use various principals and functions in order to focus on empowering the couple to reach the Mediated Marital Settlement Agreement that addresses the Parenting Plan if there are children, the distribution of property (assets and debt), child support and alimony (if applicable). These agreements become the blueprints for the future. I can also help prepare the forms necessary for an uncontested divorce.
At A Mediated Divorce, I not only help the couple resolve the general issues of a divorce, I also facilitate discussion about the specific issues of religious divorce, provide information and resources about these issues to those who request it, and help the couple reach resolution. Finally, I include the couple’s decisions in their mediation agreements — specifically the Marital Settlement Agreement and Parenting Plan.
Clients have expressed time after time that the mediation process has been vastly more preferable to them than a litigated divorce. They are pleased that they have been able to get divorced and still remain friends, that they have saved thousands of dollars in not having followed the path to a litigated divorce and, importantly to clients who have children, they are most pleased that their children have not become entangled in the litigation of divorce.
As your mediator, I will never want a retainer. I will never encourage you to fight with your spouse. I will never increase conflict between you and your spouse. I will always protect the interests of your children. I will provide a forum where you and your spouse can figure out a way to create a new life for yourselves in your new status as divorced parents.
